How to Make Luscious Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream

After finding the peach ice cream recipe in my Great-Grandmother’s 1913 cookbook and finding it so simple yet delicious, I wanted to try some different variations. This luscious strawberry cream ice cream was the result of my experimenting. I love that no special equipment is needed and it is so fast to make. Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits. I can add them to just about anything and know I will like it. Since I often have cream from my sister’s dairy I was bound to try this combination eventually. The burst of fresh strawberry flavor in each bite with this smooth ice cream is just amazing.

STrawberry Ice Cream Steps:

Person hulling strawberries with a tool over a cutting board. Wearing an apron with "Marie" on it. Clear container and bowl on countertop.

Hands pouring liquid from a brown pitcher into a spoon over a plastic container, with a yellow bowl and jar on a granite counter.

  • Pour 3 cups of cream and 1 teaspoon of vanilla over the fruit mixture.

  • Mix together well and place in a large lidded container. Place in the freezer for about 12 hours.

Hands scooping pink strawberry ice cream from a plastic container on a speckled counter. A clear glass dish is nearby.

  • I find it is easier to scoop if I take it out of the freezer 10 minutes before I want to serve it.

Bowl of pink ice cream with a spoon on a woven mat, flanked by wooden candle holders. An ice cream scoop is nearby. Cozy setting.

  • This is less fluffy than a lot of our ice cream is now but still delicious and so easy to make.
