How to use herb tomato jam on bread/crackers

Writer's picture: Marie OvertonMarie Overton

Herbed Tomato Jam is one of the recipes I tried with trepidation. I was sure that it would be a flop. The only reason I tried it is that we had so many tomatoes and I wanted to see how many things I could make with them. Boy, was I surprised. I not only liked the combination of savory herbs with the sweet jam but my kids loved it too. I can not tell you how many people I have given a sample of this to who have been as shocked as I was about just how good it really was.

How we eat Herb Tomato Jam

My current favorite way to eat Herb Tomato Jam is on French bread or crackers. It is such an easy snack.

I begin by creating a generous layer on cream cheese on either the bread or the cracker.

I then add the Herb Tomato Jam. Sometimes there will be more herbs toward the top of the jam. In that case, I just stir the jam first.

It is so pretty with the tomato pieces and bits of herb in it. I love to make this and it is so easy I have even taken it on picnics or camping trips.

I hope you love it as much as we do.
