Yay for peach season! Which means peach freezer jam. I have to admit, when I start seeing cherries and peaches at the local farmers market my heart skips a beat. It means canning season is in full swing and I am bound to be busy for the next 4 to 6 months.

Among all the canning though, I like to throw in some freezer jam.

Peach Freezer Jam is so easy to make and maintains that fresh taste that I love so much. It takes very little time to make, requires hardly any special equipment, and has less sugar. I love the variety it adds to our food preservation. The only downside is that it takes up freezer space.

This Quick and Easy Peach Freezer Jam recipe is wonderful on toast, with cream cheese and crackers, or even ice cream.

Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 Cups of blended peaches (about 1 pound)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 2/3 cup granulated Sugar

  • 2 TBSP Instant Pectin

Recipe for Peach Freezer Jam:

Blanch, peel, pit, and blend peaches.

Blend in lemon juice

Stir sugar and pectin together in a bowl until well-blended.

Blend in the sugar mixture.

Pour jam mixture into plastic freezer containers, leaving ½ inch headspace.

Let jam stand for 30-minutes to thicken. Label and freeze.

Making homemade peach freezer jam is really just that simple!
