Vanilla glaze is a great all-around glaze for topping many different cakes and rolls. My favorite thing to use this on is cinnamon rolls. I like to just drizzle the sticky goodness over the top, both for the added sweet flavor and it makes it look so pretty too.
Ingredients:
3 cups powdered sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
Begin by combining all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix together at a medium speed for about 2 minutes. (Until all the clumps are dissolved.) If you find yours has too strong of a powdered sugar flavor you can add a few grains of salt and it will adjust the flavor.
Then you can either use a spoon/knife to apply the glaze to your baked goods or you can use a small bag like I do. I use a small wide-mouth jar to hold the bag open and pour in my glaze. Then I remove all the air and seal the bag.
Using a pair of sharp kitchen shears I nip the corner off the bag. Being careful not to burst open the back I squeeze the glaze out the hole I created and onto my cinnamon rolls.
Remember that the glaze will settle and spread out from where it is applied.
